A young man named Sims has just died and woken up in the realm of Death. Soon after Sims' arrival, a mysterious old man known only as the Faded Vassal tells him he is eligible for a position in an exclusive group of god hunters known as the Horsemen. Sims accepts the position and begins a perilous journey spent annihilating dangerous demons and disbanding manipulative cults.
Along the way, Sims searches for the answers to his demise and his newfound powers. Of course, Sims isn't the only one looking for these answers. The Overlord of Death feels threatened by Sims' arrival and is constantly looking for ways to get rid of him.
If Sims isn't careful, he might find himself with a fate far worse than death.

Intriguing Title, Captivating Subtitle!

A friend of mine gave me this book to read during the pandemic. I found it to be light, entertaining and just the perfect distraction. It is about a young man who enters the realm of the underworld, seeking answers about his life, so right away it takes you to an adventure in a fantasy world. It is perfect for young adults and teens, as it is relatable to them. While it is an easy read, it also delves into many of the young adult issues of angst, finding one’s place in the world, rooting for the underdog, and finding first love.
I recommend it to anyone, but specifically to young readers.
